G. SEIBERT MUSIC STUDIO
WELCOME STUDENTS for S.Y. 2020-2021
My name is G. Seibert, teacher in one of the school districts in our area. Licensed teacher in Music: Vocal/Choral (PreK-12) and Special Education: General Curriculum K-12, Intellectual Disabilities K-12, Specific Learning Disabilities K-12 and Emotional Disturbance K-12.
My studio is very vibrant and my students are very active. They participate in a various musical events throughout the year, including recitals inside and outside of our studio, music festivals, exams, field trips and the like. We also have a list of fun-filled music activities, performances and community outreach programs. My students perform and participate in the Annual Piano Festival and Music Theory & Sight Reading Test at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) by Music National Teachers Association/MNTA, the Virginia Music Teachers Association/VMTA, Richmond Music Teachers Association/RMTA and Richmond Music Study Club/RMSC. They are also active in the "Play-a-Thon" every other year that is being held in designated public area such as Nordstrom or Regency Mall; and also in the Annual Students Recital at St. Catherine's School.
I believe that music inspires, educates and heals. This is my philosophy. Everyone can make music a part of their lives, and everybody can appreciate music, if given a chance. Music heals. Throughout my teaching career as Music and Special Education Teacher, not to mention my intensive training as a full-pledged Montessori Teacher, I have taught a great number of children and adults (in the choir) from different backgrounds and ethnicities. My teaching experience has made me a better teacher. I learned to apply various teaching strategies for each student based on their individual learning styles. I am constantly appreciative of the unique teacher-student relationships that I have built with all my students. The trust and support I built with their own parents, as well.
I believe everyone can benefit from the study of piano or music education. It is my goal to assist each one of my students appreciate, discover, learn and achieve their full potential in their own music studies.
